Did you see it? Did you see it?
The Pippin website is all freshened up and updated. Nice feeling! I trailed off writing here on the blog until I could get the other done but now I’m back and ready to go. I’ve said it before but I missed it!
There have been changes at Pippin. I’m so pleased to say that all of the heavy lifting is now done by Jill Likes and Mary Ward-Smith, who are now Pippin’s distributors. They work out of Washington state and have taken over all of the ordering and shipping of Pippin canvases. We started talking about it late last summer and it’s been a busy time but now we really feel like we’re set up well. Mary has a good stock of canvases, a streamlined process for taking and delivering orders, and sends trunk shows out every month. We’ve also been to our first trade show, in Phoenix back in January. Whew. That was a bit of a push getting ready for that! But it went very well and I loved meeting so many new people and pinched myself at the delight of being there!
I saw this heart out the window on the way there so that seemed like a good omen. I also saw the Grand Canyon but never thought to take a picture of that. My life hearts always catch my attention.
It’s been a crazy time since changing Pippin’s structure around and there have been balls dropped and waits for canvases as inventory got built up. I’m so grateful for everyone’s patience. Jill and Mary now have a good stock of canvases and a great system in place. I’ve been able to get back to mostly designing and man I’m enjoying that. That’s the part I love! If you have a wander through the canvas designs part of the website you’ll see some new things and some tweaks on older designs. Nine witches’ hats is the newest and I actually designed it on the way home from Phoenix! Some designs need to percolate in my head for years, others push their way forward and emerge sort of walking and talking.
I’m so happy about the changes to Pippin. Jill and Mary know the business and have already accomplished things that I wouldn’t have been able to tackle for years on my own. They’re also very kind, smart, funny women, have become dear friends, and we’ve already had a ball working together, with big plans to come. I feel extremely blessed to have their company on this Pippin walk.
The day last August when we formally talked about how to work together we went for lunch after and I spotted a heart on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. These hearts! They make me grin. This was of course another good omen and I had to stop and take a picture. I set my files and bags and papers down on the ground, where they of course tipped over, and I stood in the middle of the sidewalk shooting the ground and looking a little nutty. I smiled at Jill and said, “This is me. Sure about this?”
She didn’t run, and I’m pretty sure she bought me lunch. It’s a pretty big life bonus getting to do what you love and work with people who get your quirks. Especially for someone blessed in the quirk department!
Nice to be back and welcome to the new Pippin!
