Flower bed without the dirt

We have so many new canvases ready to release at market towards the end of the month, and I’m having fun going back and seeing some of these designs that I was working on in the summer ready to have their moment.  They’re like kids I haven’t seen for a while.

This design was one of those ones that I appreciate so much that just jumped out of my head pretty much done.  I was down in Anacortes, WA on one of our delicious Pippin retreats and we’d all retreated to our beds after a day of good hard work and so much laughing.  Have I ever said how much I like who I work with?  I like them and I love them.

The place we’re fortunate enough to stay for our retreats is a gorgeous spot on the water,  a lovely warm house full of beautiful things and happy feelings.  Dear friends of Mary’s have been very generous in letting us make that our spot to meet and get things done.

My bedroom (aren’t I a cheeky monkey calling it that) has a beautiful view of the water and I do yoga there in the morning.  I’ve done it once, maybe twice, so I think I get to call it my yoga spot.

The bed is so so comfy and high, so I get to feel like a little kid climbing up in it and settling into the comfiest bedding.  This bed is seriously so much nicer than my own.  Arg.

The internet is a bit sketchy there so before falling asleep instead of using my iPad to check in on my Canucks (They’re on their way back up! Stanley Cup coming.  I mean it!) I went to my drawing app which doesn’t need the internet.  This is what I drew.

And when I woke up the next morning I thought, “Hey, I think that could be a canvas.”

So this design is full of comfy bed feelings, hard work with dear friends, and bellies full of Mary’s wonderful cooking. I hope you like it.
