And the rains came
And the rains came

And the rains came

Floating candles.  I’m sophisticated.

The rains have come.  Fall has finally arrived.  A week ago I was getting that last swim in.  Now it’s cool, and wet from the sky.

Misty.

The inside candle holders were called into work when a storm came up and the power went out for an extended period of time.  A day of cozy fire, candlelight, board games, and unfortunately extreme separation anxiety at the loss of all things electronic.

The rain held off until after the outside trim of the house was painted, which was brilliant!!!  Note to self:  Don’t try to paint outside of house by myself anymore.  My non-judgemental painter and his crew quietly covered over the new painting I’d done last summer, the stuff I’d primed but not painted before the rains came last year, and the old parts I hadn’t been able to reach or get to.  Yes, the house is looking much better than it has been!!  Understatement.

I did need to pick colours.  Guess which side of this picture I was dreaming of using?

The bright ones were just possibilities for my front door.  My conservative eldest writhed in agony as I contemplated those ones.  But on the other end of the scale he tried to steer me towards beige.  Beige!  Oh please.

We met in the middle in the grays on the left and they look nice.  I’m still thinking about coming through a brightly coloured front door but he’s probably safe.  Got a few other things on my to-do list before that.  Ugh.

In the meantime I think I could have some fun with he and his siblings musing what I might still do to the front door.  Hot pink!  Chartreuse!  Polka dots!!!

Hee hee.  I love being a mom.
