I have a soft spot for the Fives series. And hearts. And bright oranges and red and hot pinks mixed together. And soft driftwood greys.
So for me the design above is the perfect storm.
And I love those bright yellowy greens. I’m not sure I ever finish up a design without at least one of those in it now.

This one gave me a bit of a chase. It had left my desk long ago and Mary had already got her painted inventory back. I was doing something with the photo of it one day when I stopped and looked. In the photo the second “I” was missing. “I think that shall never see…” Not quite as great right? Man! I crossed my fingers that it was just on the master that I keep here, not the one I had sent off for painting. Nope. Mary checked her stock and there were a whole bunch of missing I’s! Just have to laugh right? All fixed now. I painted them until my I’s crossed. (Couldn’t resist.)
I’ve been hating making dinners for months but wishing for a bit more time to make a nice dinner. Does that make sense? I like the type of cooking where you can putter and taste and enjoy making food. I’m a little over the “Man, it’s 5, what the heck am I making for dinner and how many are even going to be here to eat it?” So instead I painted kitchen utensils. Because if I had utensils like that maybe I’d like it more.
Have you ever seen the credits for the movie Chef? There’s a clip of a real chef showing the actor chef how to make a perfect grilled cheese sandwich. I just loved how he obviously sooooo felt every bit of that sandwich cooking right down to his toes. Thats the type of cooking I’d like to make a bit of time for. A soul-satisfying cooking session.
