I was looking through old computer files and came across this art from years ago. \u00a0The Lions Bay Lantern Festival. \u00a02007 I think.<\/p>\n

\"water\"<\/a>Fire:\"fire\"<\/a>Earth:\"earth\"<\/a>Air:<\/p>\n

\"air\"<\/a>Excuse the sketchy scans. \u00a0The drawings were made into huge banners that hung up in the Village. \u00a0My cool friend who organized this part of it picked bright colours for the backgrounds; orange, lime green. \u00a0Maybe purple? \u00a0I can’t remember and do you know what? \u00a0I never took a picture of them hanging! Ugh, Jenn. Ugh. \u00a0Still, it was an absolute thrill seeing them there.<\/p>\n

When I did the drawings I was a bit unsure how to get started but when I sat down it was one of those glorious and rare times when the ideas pour out effortlessly and my pencil seemed to move across the page with total confidence. \u00a0I used a super soft pencil and the grain of the marks it left was somehow both gritty and silkily smooth. \u00a0And then the fun of adding some watercolour over top.\"fire<\/a><\/p>\n

Overall, just a joy of a project. \u00a0Fun to come across them again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
