Whew! \u00a0My head is feeling full of clouds these days.<\/p>\n

On the weekend I hit a wall. \u00a0Saturday I took the view that I needed to get some exercise and wake myself up a little. \u00a0The sun made a rare appearance and I paced around until I thought the tennis court might have dried up enough to hit a ball and not land on my behind in a puddle. \u00a0A deep puddle.<\/p>\n

Another tennis court that\u00a0flirts<\/a> with me, I think. \u00a0Do you see it? \u00a0The heart? \u00a0Cheeky thing.<\/p>\n

The next day I went the other way and buried myself under a blanket on the couch. \u00a0The whole day! \u00a0It took a while to fully embrace\u00a0it but I eventually declared it a sick day even though\u00a0there were no sniffles and no stomach ache. \u00a0Just the overwhelming urge to move as little as possible. \u00a0And to binge watch Bones on Netflix. \u00a0And to studiously avoid eyes when others<\/em> came sniffing around for dinner. \u00a0I don’t know, do you get to do that every now and then?<\/p>\n

Inspired by my tennis court heart perhaps, I did let my hands move just a teeny bit. \u00a0I’ve been really interested in little loose thread stitchings lately and took the chance to try one myself. \u00a0I had actually started this a month or so ago thinking I would just keep it simple and divide the heart into sections, filling it in with loose stitches. \u00a0I did a few sections like the fullest part here but without the other thread running through it.<\/p>\n

Well that looked awful and I abandoned that plan and picked out the other colours but cursed having marked up the cushion cover with permanent pen.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I just started playing and it was exactly<\/em> what I needed.<\/p>\n

Here it is a bit farther along and in today’s dark rainy gloom. \u00a0I think I’ll stitch those buttons on something like that and think I’d better figure out something else to fill up a bit more of that middle part. \u00a0Maybe. \u00a0Maybe a few beads. \u00a0Maybe a little bit of velvet. \u00a0I keep eyeing a gorgeous ratty velvet shirt that I bought years ago and love with all of my heart but that\u00a0never ever fit quite as it should have. \u00a0It was perhaps<\/em> just a touch too small for me. \u00a0I would breathe shallowly! \u00a0The age old story: \u00a0It was the only one in the store. \u00a0I loved it. \u00a0I bought it. \u00a0It ripped, both the shirt and my heart. \u00a0Sigh.\"photo<\/a>I know it looks like I could just mend it but this is a battle the shirt and I have had a few times. \u00a0I give. \u00a0Almost.<\/p>\n

I hung onto it thinking that I could keep it in my life another way if it wouldn’t behave and just fit. \u00a0Yesterday I thought I’d got there but as I leaned over it with my scissors I just couldn’t do it. \u00a0Maybe it will start to fit. \u00a0Maybe my youngest will want to wear it. \u00a0I’m not ready.<\/p>\n

So I’ll work and play on this heart stitching more another time but yesterday it was the perfect exercise in taking a breath and settling down.<\/p>\n

Oh and I wrapped a few sticks! \u00a0These are probably going to go up on my dining room wall as soon as I find some funky piece of wood to mount\u00a0them on.<\/p>\n
