{"id":3603,"date":"2018-01-19T11:05:38","date_gmt":"2018-01-19T19:05:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/box5710.temp.domains\/~pippinst\/blog\/?p=3603"},"modified":"2018-01-19T11:05:38","modified_gmt":"2018-01-19T19:05:38","slug":"newbie-nines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/19\/newbie-nines\/","title":{"rendered":"Newbie nines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well the \u00a0parade of new Pippin designs continues. \u00a0I took a break yesterday in case anyone was at risk of Pippin-itis. \u00a0I wonder how that would affect a person? \u00a0Good luck if it is the same as I get: A total obsession with colours like hot pink, lime green and mango orange, sudden outbreaks of kitchen dancing whether music is out loud or in head, and prone to prolonged giggles at cute jokes, particularly if they relate to pirates. \u00a0Alexa told me this one the other day: \u00a0What is a pirate&#8217;s favourite animal?: \u00a0An aarg-vark. \u00a0It&#8217;s OK to laugh out loud when you&#8217;re all alone, right?<\/p>\n<p>These definitely aren&#8217;t pirate ships but I had fun with them.\u00a0 The nine boats came from a drawing I had done on my iPad and had been itching to get to.\u00a0 The lower border demanded to be water instead of my typical wonky line border.\u00a0 A couple of seagulls insisted on flying through. \u00a0I think I was just the paintbrush holder for this one.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3606\" src=\"http:\/\/box5710.temp.domains\/~pippinst\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1663.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1663.jpg 900w, https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1663-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1663-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I pulled out a couple of the boats to float on their own.\u00a0 It\u2019s been nice to see the Smalls canvases as a format sell so well.\u00a0 I like to think of all the ways they might get made up.\u00a0 Some probably get made up into Christmas ornaments.\u00a0 These boats would look cute as year-round ornaments hanging on a driftwood branch.\u00a0 A shopowner at a show was planning a customer\u2019s dog leash holder that had three little seagull Smalls inset.\u00a0 I like it when people think up cool things to make from Pippin designs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3605\" src=\"http:\/\/box5710.temp.domains\/~pippinst\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1664.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1664.jpg 900w, https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1664-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1664-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As well as pirate jokes I do like my bunnies &#8212; my youngest was born in the Year of the Rabbit \u2013 and had been thinking about these guys for a while.\u00a0 They\u2019d look cute with fluffy little tails wouldn\u2019t they?\u00a0 I think that, much more than I used to, I\u2019m designing to the ways stitchers might decide to work on the canvases.\u00a0 It feels like a bit of a whew for me actually.\u00a0 I want the designs to stand on their own painted but it\u2019s nice to know a cool thread or stitch or finishing can take them to another level.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3607\" src=\"http:\/\/box5710.temp.domains\/~pippinst\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1662.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1662.jpg 900w, https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1662-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pippinstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_1662-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nine shirt and ties came out last year and now I\u2019ve pulled the Smalls out.\u00a0 Now that I\u2019ve got finishing running through my mind wouldn\u2019t they look cute set into a tie rack?
