Today it’s about the pictures, not the words (or as much as a chatty woman can do that). I spent some time painting decorations for an upcoming grade 7 grad celebration yesterday. I had the opportunity to revisit the funky Pippin lighthouses and beach umbrellas. It was fabulous just jumping into the paint and that huge black felt pen was my best friend. It’s always hard to go from my first drawings for a new design to actually working out the shapes and colours on canvas because I lose that black sketching outline. Makes everything so much crisper. I had to kneel down on my kitchen floor to paint these and I can now point out every single muscle in my legs, shoulders and behind because they’re all yelling at me and muttering very bad words. But it was worth it because it was fun! All those polka dots and stripes made me dizzy in a good way!!
